Local author, and teacher at Prestwood, Gary Griffith has written a novel that explores the life and times of the California Gold Rush argonauts. The story is told by a family that discovers a hidden ship captain's box in a secret passage in the grandmother's home. Inside the box they find a deerskin bound, handwritten manuscript. As they read it they hear first hand the story of the life of the gold seekers.  Gary has been interested in California history since the fourth grade and now he has written a book to bring it alive.

Join us at 6:30 p.m. for a reception pouring Gary's own wine, then a reading followed by booksigning at 7:00 p.m.
