Barbara White Perry, a Sonoma Treasure Artist, will be at Readers' Books on Thursday, September 15th at 6:00 to present the third edition of her book, Drawing Sonoma. Done in ink and vine-charcoal, these illustrations celebrate the beloved historical buildings throughout the City of Sonoma and the Valley of the Moon, as well as structures and vistas that are forever lost due to time, neglect, or modern development. This project began in 1999, when Barbara was invited to draw a friend's barn. Depicting the sadly neglected, but beautiful structure, Barbara was inspired to continue memorializing the history of the Valley.

After a solo-exhibit at the Sonoma Community Center in 2015, the first edition of Drawing Sonoma was published in order to share her art with a wider audience.  Upon selling the complete print run, Barbara created a second edition with new images and writing. Now this third edition builds on the previous books, with a collection of seventy-three drawings accompanied by colorful stories of each property's past.
