Linda Dodwell reads from her memoir, The Road Taken
Local author Linda Dodwell will present her memoir, The Road Taken: Men Motorcycles, and Me, at Readers' Books on Sunday, June 5th at 2pm in the Readers' Garden. For many, the call of the open road must be ignored in favor of domesticity and other responsibilities. After becoming an empty-nester and a divorcee in 1989, Linda decided instead to follow her dreams, taking up motorcycle riding and adventuring. Her journey is fascinating and inspirational and readers will be swept along as she sets out to uncover her passion for adventure, learning the art of the motorcycle, traveling the world, living bi-hemispherically and competing in the Peking to Paris 1997 car rally.
Linda Dodwell was born in Hackensack, New Jersey. Following Princeton High Class of ’62, she was awarded an R.N. Degree from the Ann May School of Nursing in Neptune N.J. Marrying a Princeton University and Yale Law School grad led her to the West Coast and a 1983 BFA in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. Today she divides her time between the San Francisco Bay shoreline and the Australian inspired homestead in Sonoma County.
