Local author Lynn Abaté-Johnson presents her memoir "Out of Love: A Daughter's Journey"
Local author Lynn Abaté-Johnson will present her book, "Out of Love: A Daughter's Journey" at Readers' Books on Wednesday, March 29th at 6 p.m. Lynn, who was the primary caregiver for her mother for over six years, has brought her own experiences together with practical tools to offer reassurance, comfort, and practical tools to help other caregivers. Lynn's work as a business consultant and global community builder, allowed her to develop systems and processes to help navigate the difficult journey of caregiving. By transmuting the typhoon of emotions and responsibilities, she was able to blossom through (and after) caregiving rather than drowning.
"Out of Love: A Daughter's Journey" offers a unique combination of her personal growth; her expressive and often vulnerable presentation of her journey allows her to share her experiences to help other caretakers on their paths. She helps normalize what many families may take for granted or miss, such as the emotional and logistical support caretakers need, and how to navigate personal grief on top of collective grief after a loss. Lynn's goal is to bring light to the dark and peace to the soul by helping caregivers discover they're not alone.
Lynn, like most caregivers, juggled her caregiving duties with a full-time career. In her daily life, she is a business consultant and global community builder. She's been building businesses from the ground up since she was nine years old. One of her recent accomplishments was growing the global online community for one of the world's most respected leadership development and professional coach training organizations by 150% in her first four years as a professional community builder.
