Sonoma author Nancy Martin will be at Readers’ Books on Wednesday, November 20th to speak about her memoir, From the Summer of Love to the Valley of the Moon. There will be a 6:30 reception, followed by a 7pm reading. She will be joined by special guest, Al Strong, formerly of the Sons of Champlin.

From the Summer of Love to the Valley of the Moon depicts Ms. Martin’s journey from a teenager’s rock and roll wedding in San Francisco during the Summer of Love to becoming the founder of an iconic winery in the Valley of the Moon. Throughout the memoir is the consistent thread of one woman’s perseverance, creativity, and stamina that aided Ms. Martin in overcoming cultural norms and controlling abuse. Over all, it is a tale of personal growth against great odds.

Nancy J. Martin was born in San Francisco, raised in Marin County and migrated north to the Valley of the Moon, where she has resided since 1976.
